Welcome!The National Council on Crime and Delinquency (NCCD) Center for Girls and Young Women was launched in Jacksonville, Florida on October 16, 2008. This is the newest division of NCCD and is responding to the growing population of girls in the juvenile justice system. It focuses on advocacy, research, assessment services, staff training and evaluation to address juvenile justice and child welfare systems that are designed for boys and ill-equipped to meet the gender-specific needs of girls and young women.

The Center as has been awarded its first direct services contract with the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice. Coordinated by our newest staff member, Threasa Miller, The Center will provide gender responsive services at the Southwest Detention Facility in Ft. Myers.
